SIMON JOHNSON  MArch MA(Hons) ARB

After graduating from The University of Edinburgh with Distinction in the Master of Architecture course in 2009, Simon joined Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, Switzerland. An opportunity followed to move to London to work on the Tate Modern Extension. Simon Johnson Architects was established in 2013, and a variety of projects have been completed since. Simon works between London and Marlborough, and welcomes projects of all types and sizes.

Quality bespoke design comes from thorough consideration and the rigorous development of ideas in close collaboration with clients over a period of time. The drawing process is essential to generate, test and communicate proposals: starting with hand-sketching, progressing to schematic layouts in plan, section and elevation, to final detailed technical drawings fit for construction. Beautiful spaces, material finishes and details are pursued whilst ensuring fitness for purpose and functionality. Bespoke fittings and fixtures are sourced, detailed and coordinated.

Simon takes care of every project personally. In the procurement of Building Works, 'client-supply' finishes, furniture and fittings the best value for money is sought.
